7 weeks!

I cannot believe my little baby is 7 weeks old already! I go back to work in less than a month. We had a great fall weekend! We didn't do too much which was very nice. Mason has been very colicky this week. He screams...and screams...and screams. But in return has slept really good at night. Still hates the paci and only likes his fingers a little. Which does not help the self-soothing process. As much as the screaming makes me crazy...I do remember that he is growing up so fast and this won't last forever. I do enjoy the moments where he is happy and smiling. Davis is a mess these days. He is constantly getting into everything. He has fallen in love with dip. He loves to dip everything into ranch and cheese dip (just like his mommy!). He tends to just suck the dip off and want more though.

We went to Uncle Paul's Tree Farm on Saturday to visit. Davis was obsessed with riding the gator they had there. He had no fear to hop on it for a ride with Uncle Paul. And he proceeded to fall out in the floor when it was time to leave. Typical these days!

Davis's First Haircut

I finally talked Jeff into letting me take Davis to get his first haircut. I hated cutting the baby curls off...but his hair was turning into a mullet. And he was called a girl almost daily. We went to Pigtails and Crewcuts at the Mall of Georgia. Davis did great! He loved all the new toys to play with. He watched Toy Story while they cut his hair and never cried. He actually cried when we got him out of the airplane chair. He picked out a prize out of the toy chest when he was done. He looks like such a little boy now.

6 weeks!

It's hard to believe my baby is 6 weeks old already! He has been rolling over from his tummy to his back for a couple weeks. He doesn't do it often but a couple times a week I will see him flip over! He has also started smiling this week! This is one of my favorite things for babies to learn to do. It completely melts my heart everytime he smiles at me.

We went to Jaemor Farms today north of Gainesville. Mason slept the entire time. Davis had an off day. I'm not sure if it was because we didn't take the stroller for him and he walked or he was just having a grumpy day. But he was not a happy camper. He did like the petting zoo though. Davis has no fear of animals. He walked right up to the pig and tried to kiss it. He stuck his hands in the donkey's mouth. And put his hands in the chicken cages. Hopefully we will be able to do a pumpkin patch next weekend so Davis can pick out a pumpkin for us to carve.

One Month!

September 27, 2010

Mason is one month old! He is about 10lbs (we went for a 2 week dr visit and he was 8lb 10oz. They don't do a 1 month visit). He is sleeping pretty good. We moved him out of our bedroom and into Jeff's toy room for now. When he is sleeping closer to 12 hours like Davis, we will move him into Davis's room. Some nights Mason will go 5-6 hour stretches at night and then other nights he's up every 3 hours on the dot! He has moved to some 0-3 month clothes. Newborn still fits except for the length. The pants are capri's on him. Davis is adjusting as well as expected. He gets really jealous when Jeff or I are holding Mason. He has started throwing huge fits where he falls out on the ground and just screams. People tell me this is just his age too.

Mason Newborn Pics

A sweet lady that Jeff works with offered to do Mason's newborn pics for us at no charge! Babies grow so fast and lose that newborn look so it means a lot to have the pictures to have those memories. Mason's pictures were done when he was 10 days old. We had the pictures taken at my moms house since she has much better lighting at her house.

And she took some really good ones of Davis. We hadn't gotten professional pictures taken of him in a while so these were his 15 month pictures too!

Mason Thomas Hinkle

Our second baby boy was born August 27th at 9:28 pm. He weighed 7lbs 15 oz and was 21 in long. Mason was born almost 2 weeks early so he would of been REALLY big had I gone to my due date. Labor was much easier the second time around! Start to finish was only 5 hours.

It's about time...

So...I have been meaning to start a blog for quite sometime. Like since Davis was born. But I guess it's better late than never. I will never be able to go back and blog starting when Davis was born---so I will do a quick catch-up on our lives.

May 10, 2009 (Mother's Day)
Our sweet first baby boy was born at 4:08pm, weighing 7lbs 14oz and was 20 3/4 in long. Davis James Hinkle was a great baby! He slept through the night early on and was such a happy baby!

When Davis was 7 months old, we found out that we were expecting baby #2. In March of 2010 we found out it was another baby boy! Everyone kept asking me if I was disappointed that it wasn't a girl. But really...I was so excited for Davis to have a baby brother that would be so close to his age.

Davis started walking over the summer of 2010. He is such a curious little boy and into everything! Davis and Sadie (our dog) are best friends. They chase each other around the house and play all day.
